Historical Fiction has become an immensely popular choice for leisure readers; however, very few libraries designate books as such or “sticker” these titles on their shelves. It can be overwhelming and difficult to find the right reading suggestions for your patrons.
Becky Spratford, author, Dominican University instructor, and Readers’ Advisory librarian at the Berwyn Public Library, is here to help! In this afternoon session Becky will relate to you the characteristics of the genre, provide you with practical lists of the most popular subgenres and authors, and review the best resources for historical fiction. By the end of the program, you will be an expert of the past–or at least the fictional past!
Coffee and mini desserts are included in this afternoon workshop.
Registration and Coffee start at 12:30 p.m.
